I’ve been there. I felt crazy trying to start a new business in my 40’s when I had just bought a new house, had responsibilities and bills to pay. I bought my website, bought business cards and farted around on Canva trying to build my brand and business whilst not having a clue what I was doing or who I was aiming it at. I spent hours doubting myself, my skills and my self worth. Rather than putting myself out there I hid behind my computer screen hoping the 3  instagram posts I made on Canva were going to propel my business into the stratosphere because the thought of selling my business felt really gross.

Everything changed when I finally stopped hiding behind my computer and invested in myself and my business. I got the support I needed by investing in my coach who helped show me all the steps I needed to take to grow my business and supported me through each step whilst I worked through all the hard questions like who I was doing this for and why, what did I want my business to look like and how did I want it to work for me. I went to networking events and seminars to push me out of my comfort zone but also to help me learn and grow myself and my business. I talked to people in business who had already done it and took onboard their advice. 

It made me realise I didn’t need more snazzy canva templates. I needed clear direction and to build something I loved and was proud of that I knew would sell.  Most importantly I stopped thinking I was crazy for wanting to do something totally new at 40.

• Step 3 -Building your product 

  • Building a clear offering (eg programme) and structure to the product. Set pricing that aligns to you and your product
